The Young and the Restless Week of September 1 Update: Phyllis Goes Too Far, Kyle Makes Things Worse

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for the week of September 1-5 reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will go too far, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will make things worse and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will demand honesty from Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

For starters, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will push Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to take Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) down, even if that means causing drama for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in the process.

Meanwhile, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will fly into a rage after Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) finally admits her arrangement with Victor, which was all about breaking up Kyle and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).

Although Audra will try to explain herself and will promise she’s not going to lie anymore, Nate will be too fed up to listen.

After Nate decides he’s done with Audra permanently, he’ll open up to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about that.

As for Kyle, his marriage proposal won’t get the reaction he was anticipating.

All signs point to Claire unleashing her fury over Kyle’s attempt to distract her with a ring and avoid dealing with their real issues.

Once Kyle’s plan ends in catastrophe, he’ll tell Jack and Diane they were right to be wary of his rushed engagement idea.

Kyle will feel like he’s made things so much worse, but Diane and Jack will offer a pep talk.

In the meantime, Claire will join forces with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) on an Audra takedown plot.

Audra and Claire have a fierce faceoff coming up as well, so they’ll let each other have it.

After Victor spells out exactly what he expects from Cane, he’ll find a surprise waiting for him at home.

Nikki will prepare a romantic night for Victor and pass along some gifts to show her devotion.

Later, Victor will rally the Newman troops and get ready for some bold moves.

The family will come together on Victor’s next scheme, but Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may remain concerned about Cane’s involvement.

Other Y&R spoilers say Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will find a new way to commit to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and keep their love going strong.

Over with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), it looks like she’ll spill Cane’s agenda to Phyllis and let her know the takeover plans are still happening.

Unfortunately, Phyllis will show a little too much confidence later, so that’ll lead to troubling news.

There’ll be a situation where Phyllis goes too far and perhaps has to do some damage control on Cane’s behalf.

As for Lily, she’ll push Cane for the real story.

Lily will still feel like Cane is keeping secrets about his intentions in Genoa City, so she’ll pressure him to level with her.

Finally, an opportunity will land in Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) lap, so could that involve a new job?

Will Jack recruit Michael to help the Abbotts fight off the Newmans or could someone else reach out to Michael instead?
