B&B’s Daytime Emmy Winner Lisa Yamada Previews Her Role in ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel ‘Elle’

Earlier this year, it was announced that The Bold and the Beautiful’s recent Daytime Emmy winner, Lisa Yamada (Luna Nozawa) would be featured in the cast of Prime Video’s prequel to the smash hit comedy, Legally Blonde, called Elle, named after the central character. The series is due out in the summer of 2026.

Yamada, who last month took home the Daytime Emmy in the new Outstanding Emerging Talent Category, and became the first Asian-American performer from a network daytime drama to win an Emmy award, will be seen in the role Amber, a Bel Air high school friend in Elle’s social circle.

Elle follows Elle Woods (Lexi Minetree) in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film. The series is set years before the events in the first movie, which kicked off as Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) graduated from college and headed to Harvard Law to pursue a legal career. Oscar winner, Witherspoon in one of the series executive producers under her production company, Hello Sunshine.

This week, during Lisa’s appearance on Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart, now in its second season, along with her best friend and B&B co-star, Christian Weissmann (Remy Pryce), she spoke about filming Elle and more.

Lisa shared, “It was one of the best wardrobe departments I’ve ever worked with. I mean, just dripping in Hermes and Dolce Gabbana and Gucci. My character is like,’Daddy’s Amex is gonna pay for it.” It was a lot of fun. It was so completely different from what I do on The Bold and the Beautiful. So, it was was refreshing. The budget of the show was crazy. We shut down Rodeo Drive. We were on DeuxMoi!”

For those who do not know DeuxMoi, it’s a very popular (with over 2.3 million followers) anonymous Instagram account and website that publishes unverified celebrity gossip submitted by followers. It is a modern equivalent to the raw, unfiltered, and sometimes questionable ‘inside scoop’ style of early gossip blogs, often generating significant buzz and discussion on social media platforms like Reddit.”
